PSA at Piano Day Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Symphony Association member Amy Marshall is a Steinway-trained piano technician and a member of the Pittsburgh Piano Technicians Guild which is sponsoring Piano Day Pittsburgh on Sunday, August 25, in the Cultural District (as well as a Steinway on a flatbed truck that on August 24 will travel through downtown with artists performing).

Amy (Harmony Pianos) is sponsoring the pianists who perform at River Vue Patio, 300 Liberty Avenue.

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is also a sponsor of Piano Day, and will have the following artists performing in Katz Plaza at Heinz Hall.

Peter Stumpf, event founder and producer of the event, is the official Heinz Hall piano technician.

Here’s a link to the official Piano Day website for more information on the participating musicians as well as the PPG site schedule.

Donations Touch Many Lives

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, through its Learning and Community Engagement Programs, is a resource for the wider community outside the audiences for the classical and pops concerts. Donations to the Annual Fund Drive, ending Aug. 31, help support these valuable programs.

We have many events planned for our members this autumn:

Fall Luncheon is Sept. 17

Oktoberfest Is Oct. 3

Taste Downtown is Nov. 3

We will gather with other PSA members and guests for Sunday Brunch before a concert. We will hear PSO musicians and staff talk about their careers in music, their instruments and often with brief concerts at Music 101.

We honor our new members and start the conversations with present members at a luncheon and tour of the backstage areas of Heinz Hall.

We will bring lite bites to share in the Green Room with PSO musicians and visit with them on rehearsal break during Orchestra Appreciation.

Winter holidays will bring in Symphony Splendor Holiday Home Tour in Upper St. Clair, and the Holiday Luncheon and Boutiques at the always fabulous Duquesne Club.

2020 brings our elegant spring fundraiser Symphony Salon and more social opportunities.

New members are always welcome. Join us.

You will find all our events for the upcoming year listed at Year-at-a-Glance. We hope to see you here often.
