Our Mission Statement
The Pittsburgh Symphony Association (PSA) supports and promotes the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) and its musicians through fundraising, community outreach, educational programs, audience development and special events.
Our Objectives
- Raise funds for the PSO.
- Raise funds at a level consistent with the challenges of the pandemic
- Raise the awareness of the PSA and encourage growth in PSA membership and participation in PSA events
- Raise awareness of the PSA through events, education, advertising and membership ads
- Increase membership by recruiting guests attending PSA events and through advertising
- Increase members’ participation
- Define the PSA brand and develop criteria for projects
- Governance Committee will be responsible for discussing/developing language reflecting the PSA brand (and community perception) and develop criteria for approving new PSA events
- Develop a 3-5 year strategic plan consistent with the PSO’s strategic plan
- Facilitate PSO audience development by supporting its musicians and by generating new avenues of outreach
Our History
Pittsburgh Symphony Association (PSA) was founded as the Women’s Committee in 1939 and incorporated as the Women’s Association in 1946. From its beginning PSA has been an important source of funds for Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
PSA welcomes new members. Some of our projects are fundraisers and some are educational. Working on our projects is a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
