Membership Luncheons

We typically have three luncheons during the year, usually at local private clubs. For entertainment, PSO musicians, staff or others in the classical music world provide a lecture and/or performance.

Fall Membership Luncheon – September 17, 2024

September’s annual membership meeting, one of three annual business meetings for the entire membership, this is usually held in September.

Fundraisers

Sweepstakes – Spring 2025

Sweepstakes is another PSA signature fundraiser. Indeed, the Sweepstakes logo is so well recognized by thousands of cultural arts supporters throughout the Pittsburgh area that it remains one of our largest fundraising events. A $5,000 cash prize is among the fabulous prizes at stake.

Oktoberfest – October 10, 2024

An evening of dancing, bingo, stein-holding contests and auctions, held for the past several years at historic Teutonia Mannerchor in Pittsburgh’s Deutschtown.

A New Bi-Monthly Activity for Members: PSA Book Club
Fine Instrument Fund – Year Round

The Fine Instrument Fund (FIF), which was established in 1984, is a fund designated solely for the purchase of instruments for use by PSO musicians while under contract with the orchestra. In addition to generous donations, the FIF generates funds through 50/50 raffles at PSA events and the sale of commemorative cards, a distinctive way to acknowledge special events or as a memorial. Since 1988, the FI has purchased 22 instruments for the PSO. Details.

Orchestra Appreciation – April 4, 2024, Heinz Hall.

PSA members honor PSO musicians with lunch during a rehearsal break, showing our love for and appreciation of our orchestra members.
